Out of Bakersfield, California, the sweet sight of September is upon Country Sweet Produce! Just in time for Fall, its sweet potatoes are up and running at full speed. Country Sweet is currently harvesting its Diane variety with plans to kick off its Covingtons this week. Quality and supply are both excellent offering a promising season for the company who has entered a strong sweet potato market.
Great growing conditions have lead to a fast launch on the annual harvest. Commodity Manager Cody Rose tells AndNowUKnow, “This is our earliest start with all varieties now being ready, we are getting a beautiful crop of Covingtons into production this week!” Mr. Rose added, “We are as excited as ever about our entire line-up—and will stretch our program ever further than before, both early and late”.
Country Sweet features both organic and conventional sweet potatoes that are all grown and packed by the Bakersfield, California based shipper. The company's Bako Sweet label is now firmly established nationwide.
