<p>Superior Tomato-Avocado Ltd. has been cited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for failure to pay for produce.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The San Antonio, Texas-based company failed to pay $1,514,272 to 49 sellers for 965 lots of produce, in violation of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. Consequently, the company is barred from operation in the produce industry until May 20, 2015 when it can reapply for a PACA license.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Company principals STA Management LLC and Walter S. Jensen, may not be employed by or affiliated with any PACA licensee until May 20, 2014, and then only with the posting of a USDA-approved surety bond.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The USDA is required to publish findings when a business commits willful, repeated, and flagrant violations of PACA as well as impose restrictions against those held responsible.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><a class="btn btn-sm btn-primary col-lg-12" style="white-space: normal;" href=" http://www.ams.usda.gov/AMSv1.0/ " target="_new">AMS </a></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
