<p>Supervalu has named Barry Crane as Vice President of Corporate Logistics. In his new role, he will be responsible for the centrally-led functions of transportation, distribution operations, risk management, operational analysis, industrial engineering, and advantage logistics, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">“This role is vital in driving Supervalu’s efforts to develop and manage a best-in-class distribution and transportation network that meets the needs of Supervalu customers,” said Haugarth. “Barry has extensive logistics experience that we are confident will help drive our focus on continuous improvements to quality, productivity, cost reduction and overall performance.”</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Crane will report to Janel Haugarth, Executive VP and President of Independent Business and Supply Chain. Prior to joining Supervalu, Crane served most recently as Vice President, Global Distribution and Logistics at The Talbots.
