<p><strong>Minneapolis, MN</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Target Corp. has released its 2011 Corporate Responsibility Report. This past year the company has added new sustainability, health &amp; well-being and education objectives to its future goals. The report measures the progress of its existing goals that were announced in June 2011 and includes those that have been met, those on track for completion and those with opportunities for improvement, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Target has kept on track with quite a few of its efforts, one being its volunteerism. In 2011, Target team members volunteered more than 475,000 hours keeping the company on track toward its goal of 700,000 volunteer hours annually by FYE 2015. Inbound transportation efficiency improved by 29 percent and outbound efficiency improved by 22 percent in 2011, exceeding Target's five-year goal to achieve 15 percent and 20 percent improvements.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> “When Target launched its corporate responsibility goals in 2011, we reinforced our longstanding commitment to creating a brighter future for our team members, our communities, and the world we live in,” said Tim Baer, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Target. “Target’s corporate responsibility goals foster greater transparency and accountability on initiatives that help put more U.S. children on the path to graduation, reduce our impact on the environment, and help Target team members and their families live healthy, balanced lives.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> To further demonstrate the company's commitment to communities, Target has initiated four new corporate responsibility goals that include and increasing sustainable seafood selection, improving owned-Brand packaging sustainability and increasing diabetes HbA1c testing compliance.
