CALIFORNIA - Woah Nelly, it’s a hot one here in Sacramento, California, where the ANUK team calls home.

After triple-digit temperatures rolled in this past weekend, an excessive heat warning was put in place throughout southern and southeastern California, western and southern Arizona, and southern Nevada. As the heat continues to climb, record-setting temperatures could be expected in parts of the Golden State.

According to reporting from FOX Weather, the hottest spots in the California valleys; Las Vegas, Nevada; and southern Arizona, are expected to see highs over 110 degrees. The Northwest has also had heat advisories issued for parts of Northern California and western and southern Oregon, including the Portland metro area.

For Phoenix, Arizona, highs of over 110 degrees have been seen all week and are expected to peak near 115 degrees today. On Friday, both Las Vegas and Sacramento reached 100 degrees for the first time this year, breaking a streak that extended past 290 days.

Temperatures are expected to decline as the week progresses, with highs in California dropping into the 80s and 90s by the end of the week.

Will these soaring temperatures have any effect on crops in California and Arizona? And will this excessive heat continue throughout the summer?
