REEDLEY, CA - Trinity Fruit Company, a leading grower, packer and distributor of fresh fruit, beverages, frozen and dried fruit based in California’s Central Valley, announced the start of operations of an advanced microgrid at its Reedley packing facility in partnership with Scale, a leading provider of advanced on-site energy solutions.

The microgrid is part of Trinity Fruit’s broader Zero Waste Initiative, which reflects the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and regenerative practices across its operations. The initiative focuses on reducing waste, maximizing resources and creating value throughout Trinity’s farming, packing and processing operations. From upcycling fruit byproducts into fresh juice to investing in more efficient energy solutions, Trinity continues to find new ways to make the most of every resource.

The system is designed to help Trinity better manage rising energy costs while providing greater reliability and supporting the company’s long-term sustainability goals. It also gives Trinity the ability to operate independently of California’s electrical grid, providing greater energy resilience and control over its operations.

David White, President, Trinity Fruit Company

“Our Zero Waste Initiative is about continually looking at our operations and asking how we can do better with the resources we have,” said David White, President of Trinity Fruit, in the recent release. “Whether it’s finding ways to give fruit byproducts a second life through our fresh juice and aril programs or investing in technologies that improve efficiency and sustainability, we are committed to building a more resilient and regenerative future for our business and the agricultural industry.”

For Trinity Fruit, this project represents another step in the company’s continued investment in innovation, efficiency and sustainability. Through its Zero Waste Initiative, Trinity continues to look beyond traditional approaches to agriculture by finding new ways to reduce waste, maximize resources and create additional value throughout its operations.
