<p>Since its acquisition by Pacific Trellis on January 1st, Dulcinea has ramped up its focus on spring and summer production for this year.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Although melons have become a year-round business, there is a large increase in watermelon demand starting in May versus the winter months.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"It’s important we kick off the season with strong quality and marketing promotions in place to support the largest volume year so far for Dulcinea," says John McGuigan, General Manager of Dulcinea Farms.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">This year, Dulcinea's summer program is slated to include its flagship branded melons, including the PureHeart mini watermelon, Tuscan cantaloupe, and Ruby Bliss large seedless watermelon.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">In addition to these, the company will also be focusing on new watermelon varieties that which will complement the current portfolio.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"A continuous supply of new varieties is key to driving this business and we are putting significant efforts to forward this initiative," said Linda Chen, CFO and Partner at Pacific Trellis.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Starting mid-May, summer production will begin domestically in Yuma, AZ for the West Coast and in Newberry, FL for the East Coast.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"Projection for the Northern Mexico quality and volumes for early spring look very good so we hope to promote frequently on both our PureHearts and Ruby Bliss watermelons," says McGuigan.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Under the new ownership of Pacific Trellis, Dulcinea is looking forward to a very big year.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><a class="btn btn-sm btn-primary col-lg-12" style="white-space: normal;" href="http://dulcinea.com/" target="_new"> Dulcinea </a></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
