USDA Lifts PACA Reparation Sanctions on AG Tomato Co

<p>The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced that Adam Guzman Jr., doing business as Houston, Tx-based AG Tomato Co., satisfied a reparation order issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA).</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The company may continue operating in the produce industry once it applies for and is issued a PACA license. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Sole proprietor of the business, Adam G. Guzman Jr., may now be employed by or affiliated with a PACA licensee.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>PACA provides an administrative forum to handle disputes involving produce transactions, which can result in a reparation order being issued requiring damages to be paid by those not meeting their contractual obligations in buying and selling fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><a class="btn btn-sm btn-primary col-lg-12" style="white-space: normal;" href=" http://www.ams.usda.gov/AMSv1.0/ams.fetchTemplateData.do?template=TemplateA&amp;navID=Home&amp;topNav=Home&amp;page=Home&amp;acct=AMSPW " target="_new">AMS</a></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
