<p>West Pak Avocado is set to begin its first summer internship program this year. <img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/Lee_body_02.jpg" alt="Cropped Images July 8th 2013" />The program will take place over the course of 11 weeks and involves learning all areas of the company, with a focus on supporting the sales team, customer service, and understanding how an avocado company operates.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> West Pak’s first participant in the program is Lee Daneshavske, an agribusiness student from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> “I’m very excited and eager to learn about the new concepts and ideas this company will introduce to me,” said Daneshavske. “It looks like this company has a lot to offer! I know that by the end of my internship I will gain a better understanding of how a successful company in the produce industry operates. I also hope to gain some new knowledge behind sales and customer service to help me become a successful salesman in the future.”</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> In order to gain a complete perspective of how West Pak Avocado operates, Lee will be introduced to all areas of the company. He will first tour the field and growing department, the production and ripening department and will then be trained amongst the sales department and learn the processes of sales and customer service. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> “We are excited to start an internship program at West Pak and introduce Lee to the produce industry through avocados,” said Doug Meyer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We hope that he learns a lot from us and gains valuable knowledge and experience for his future in the produce industry.
