<p>Onion lovers unite. The New Year is inviting more than just resolutions as January unfolds, but an Idaho-E. Oregon Onion Committee' Sixth Annual Onion Lovers’ Month Retail Display Contest as well. The committee is sponsoring the event which plans to help retailers increase onion sales while promoting a healthy start to the new year with the possibilities of Idaho-E. Oregon Onions. The display contest encourages retailers, both supermarket chains and independents, to create eye-catching displays that promote Idaho-E. Oregon Onions, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Criteria requires that the displays must be in place for a minimum one week duration between now and January 31, 2012. The displays must be constructed in the produce division of the store and must include Idaho-E. Oregon Onions, in either bag, bulk or both, and have a clearly discernable label showing the Idaho-E. Oregon name. Creativity is appreciated. Highly suggested, is the All-American theme to encourage buying USA onions. Retailers can achieve this theme with pre-printed POS materials supplied by the Idaho-E. Oregon Onion Committee as well as the use of other self-created display support materials.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The Idaho-E. Oregon Onion Lover's Month Retail Display Contest review committee will judge displays and award the prizes based on the "use of Idaho-E.
