The Industry Says Goodbye to One of Its own, Robert “Bob” Duncan McDougall

<p>The industry is saying goodbye to one of its own. Robert “Bob” Duncan McDougall of East Wenatchee, Washington, died Monday, February 6, 2012, in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 87. The lifelong resident of Wenatchee Valley, accrued 60 years of experience in the fruit industry, according to a recent press release. In 1960, Mr. McDougall established McDougall Orchards and later in 1977, joined with his sons Stuart and Scott, to form McDougall and Sons, Inc. He served as President until 1998 when he retired.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> To add to his accomplishments, in 1989, Mr. McDougall became one of the four founding partners of Columbia Marketing International. He continued to be an active partner with his sons in the New Northview Orchard Partnership, an orchard north of Orondo. Mr. McDougall served in the Washington State House of Representatives from 1960 to 1968, his second term as Assistant Majority Leader and spent a four-year term in the Washington State Senate as Minority Whip.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> A celebration of Robert “Bob” Duncan McDougall’s life, passion, and hard work will be held on February 24, 2012 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Wenatchee Country Club in East Wenatchee, WA. He is survived by his wife, Doris McDougall of East Wenatchee; his sons, Douglas McDougall of Redmond, Stuart McDougall of Wenatchee and Scott McDougall of East Wenatchee; his stepchildren, Denice Frasu and Leonard Anderson, both of East Wenatchee, and Diane Bren of Olympia.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
