The Kroger Co. is showing its appreciation to the men and women of the armed forces, the service members, their families and our veterans through their campaign "Honoring Our Heroes." The company has raised $1.5 million in support of the USO and the celebration of its 70th anniversary. Through customers and associates and a variety of in-store activities at the Kroger family stores across the country, the funds were raised to support the cause. The website www.honoringourheroes.com, permitted visitors to share photos or send messages of support to those military heroes they wished to honor.

The USO is a private, nonprofit organization that provides programs, services and entertainment in appreciation to the country's military personnel and their families and to further enhance their quality of life.
