TRACY, CA - It is a new dawn for QDC, a company that is seeing the culmination of carefully laid plans for a fresh surge of growth. With stronger distribution than ever, while the company gains momentum, QDC is falling into a stride it established with a brand overhaul in 2024.

“As we head into the summer and fall seasons, we're excited about the momentum we're building and the opportunities ahead for both QDC Fresh and our retail partners. Our focus remains on bringing products and programs to market that solve challenges, create excitement in the produce department, and ultimately help drive sales at retail,” Rachelle Schulken, Director of Marketing, shared.

From the successful launch of California Style Street Corn to the expansion of the company’s tropicals, bananas, and Australian citrus programs, QDC is continuing to invest in innovative offerings and capabilities that help retailers differentiate themselves and meet evolving consumer demand. At the same time, Rachelle said the company’s expanded distribution footprint and growing production capabilities position us to be an even stronger partner as new opportunities emerge.

“While we're excited about where we're going, we're equally proud of where we've come from. QDC Fresh has built its reputation on decades of experience, trusted relationships, and a commitment to delivering fresh, high-quality produce. We're drawing on that heritage and legacy as we continue to grow, evolve, and help propel QDC Fresh into the future,” she explained.

QDC’s Street Corn program is gaining momentum because it delivers on three things today's shoppers are looking for: convenience, on-trend flavor profile, and an incredible eating experience. The company is also poised to roll out additional flavors such as Creamy Pesto, Nashville Zest, and Texas BBQ in the coming months, making Street Corn a comprehensive program to drive additional basket rings.

“The category has remained relatively stagnant for years, and Street Corn brings something fresh and exciting to the produce department with a simple, easy-to-prepare solution that transforms corn into a restaurant-inspired side dish in minutes,” Rachelle pointed out.

Combining sweet corn with a garlic and lime-infused sauce, Parmesan cheese, and a savory seasoning packet to create a craveable, on-trend eating experience that stands out on the shelf, this value-added item is poised for growth—something buyers can experience firsthand at FPFC's Holiday Showcase.

“We invite buyers to stop by to learn how California Style Street Corn can help drive incremental sales, increase basket rings, and bring something new to the produce department during the busy holiday season,” she said.

While FPFC’s Holiday Showcase is on August 26th–27th in Costa Mesa, California, retailers interested in the offering already have access to the program. As a California girl raised eating spiced corn on a stick, I can certainly vouch for a waiting customer base.
