Welcome to Shop Talk! On this episode John Battle, Director of Sales for Great Lakes International Trading Inc., joins AndNowUKnow to talk about the company's sweet onions. Twenty-one years ago, Mr. Battle went down to South America where he began growing sweet onions for the first time. At this year's PMA Fresh Summit in Atlanta, Great Lakes introduced a new product by the name of "Sweet Gusto." The forty pound sweet onion, of the Century variety, boasts a built-in POP card in the box and slip sheets that come off the containers when the palettes come in.
