The ANUK crew was given an insider's look at Peri & Sons upgraded facility in Firebaugh, CA. "At Peri & Sons Farms, we continually seek out and cultivate opportunities to innovate and improve everything we do" said Alex Barry, plant manager. "Last year we invested over five million dollars in improvements to our Firebaugh facility for things such as a new cold-storage shed, where over 4,000 bins can be stored, giving us eight sheds total." Another addition was a highly efficient cooling system that automatically adjusts to meet the demands of each area of the facility. Mr. Barry stated "We have added a five-lane sizing unit to give us a total of 15 lanes that process at a speed of 150 pockets-per-second per lane. We have added three more sizing-drops to give us a total of 18. We now have the ability to sort onions more precisely and efficiently which means we can more closely match our customer’s specific needs. We have also added another state-of-the-art automated pallet builder."<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
