On this exclusive interview, Bernadette Hamel, Vice President, National Procurement of Produce, Metro Inc., joins Sarah Hoxie to discuss the retailer's presence in the industry, her produce roots and its bilingual offerings. The company is committed to working with the best producers and growers to increase consumption of fresh produce and it is paying off for Canada, where ratios are on the rise in Ontario and Quebec.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Ms. Hamel got her start on the Central Market in Montreal and in 1983 she attended the CPMA convention in Toronto where her networking eventually brought her to Metro. Twenty-eight or twenty-nine years later she is still there and enjoying every minute of it. The company has stores in two provinces. In Quebec, it has 221 Metro banners and 80 Super C banners.
