Kroger New Nationwide Simple Truth Brand Announced

The Kroger Co. has announced nationwide availability of their new and affordable Simple Truth and Simple Truth Organic brands. Both brands will be free from 101 artificial preservatives and ingredients opposed by many customers. The Simple Truth Organic is certified organic by the USDA while the Simple Truth products will include USDA-certified natural products including meat, chicken and eggs. Simple Truth and Simple Truth Organic brands will be rolled out in phases starting this month and will span a wide variety of 30 product categories including milk, cereals, yogurt, dried fruit, salads, and many more. By January 2013, both brands will collectively expand to more than 40 product categories. All products will be clearly marked with the brand’s green circular logo and contain a straightforward list of ingredients. Mary Ellen Adcock, Vice president of Natural Foods for Kroger stated, “While organic products are available in most conventional grocery stores, our customers told us that labels can be confusing, and there's a general belief in the marketplace that organic means more expensive.” She continues, “At Kroger we understand these challenges, so we're offering our shoppers the Simple Truth Organic brand, an easy, more clearly labeled and affordable way to buy organic products."
