On this episode, Jennifer Fancher, Director of Marketing, Growers Express joins AndNowUKnow from the PMA Foodservice 2012 floor in Monterey, California to discuss how they are making QR codes smarter. They have added item level traceability to its broccoli, sweet baby broccoli and cauliflower. When a consumer scans the QR code, they can reach information that connects them to the farm. They learn about the farm, where the product was grown and about the farmer who grew it. This is not only great for consumers but great for chefs because they can supplement their menus with information about the growing region and the farmer that grew the ingredient.
