<p>United Fresh welcomes a new appointment to the Board of Directors as Safeway Senior VP of produce, floral and bakery Steve Burnham joins the team. He has been working with Safeway since 1989 and is relishing in this opportunity to contribute through this new role in the industry. Burnham worked his way through the meat unit at the store, district, and national level and later became group director for Safeway’s corporate meat business. He was appointed vice president of marketing planning and later promoted to vice president and then senior vice president of produce this year. Burnham stated “United Fresh works hard to create an environment in which the entire produce industry, from grower to retailer, can succeed together.
