US Foods Contributes To Food Safety

<p><strong>ROSEMONT, IL</strong> – US Foods attended the 2012 Global Food Safety Conference in Orlando, Florida this month. The event which ran from February 15-17, gave the company the opportunity to further its commitment to food safety, according to a press release. US Foods participated in the conference hosted by the Global Food Safety Initiative, with one of its own on-board for conference events. Jorge Hernandez, Senior Vice President of Food Safety and Quality Assurance for US Foods as well as Chairperson of the Storage and Distribution Working Group for the GFSI, contributed to the panel discussion “Advancing Global Food Safety through Collaboration” along with the seminar “Fresh, Healthy and Natural – Consequences of Food Safety.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> The conference was attended by more than 1,000 leading food safety specialists from over 60 countries, that included food retailers, manufacturers and government officials. The event spurred discussion on food safety best practices and concerns to better ensure quality in the world’s food supply.
