<p>Russell Boyd, Director of Sales, Sunrise Produce, passed away on Friday, December 28th, 2012.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Mr. Boyd worked in the restaurant industry in the 1970's and joined G&G Produce in 1980. In 1994 he joined JC Produce as a regional representative. Mr. Boyd became part of the Sunrise Produce family in 2007 contributing to workshops, handling and receiving seminars as well as food safety seminars.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The industry veteran touched many people in the foodservice industry working with the FPFC, PMA, the National Restaurant Association. He was most recently with the United Fresh Produce Association and the CSNA. Mr. Boyd was active in the California School Nutrition Association and the California Restaurant Association. He was an avid surfer and golfer along with his many contributions to the industry.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife, Meryl, and five children.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">David Sapia, Executive Vice President; Partner, Sunrise Produce Company, tells AndNowUKnow, "Russell was truly a part of our family here at Sunrise and a teacher at heart; mentoring and schooling so many industry members from restaurants and medical centers to the California school system.
