Fresh & Easy Buzz states that they have learned that the grocer has plans to launch its first stores in the region in nine months to a year. Aldi has plans to open approximately 100 stores on the west coast in 2013, during its first two years of operation, according to the publication.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Along with the first stores in Southern California, the company hopes to eventually open its small-format grocery markets throughout California as well as in other nearby western states. Those regions include Nevada and Arizona.
