<p><strong>Westborough, MA</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> BJ’s Charitable Foundation is announcing that the organization has made a donation of $1,169,396 to 175 nonprofit organizations in the 15 states where BJ’s Wholesale Clubs are located. The donation will be received by organizations that have a focus in four areas: hunger prevention, self-sufficiency, health care and education. BJ’s Charitable Foundation's mission is to enhance and enrich community programs that primarily benefit children and families, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> BJ’s Charitable Foundation will donate over $364,000 to forty-six organizations in the area of Hunger Prevention. The donations will assist shelters, food banks, soup kitchens and food pantries in buying and distributing food to those suffering from hunger.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Fifty-nine nonprofits that have programs in the area of self-sufficiency, providing temporary or emergency services to those who have the goal of becoming independent members of society, will receive more than $381,000. Those grants will improve shelter programs while providing funds to purchase supplies and clothing. The donations will also fund programs that offer families a temporary and safe shelter, the release states.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Fifty-four nonprofits that provide academic and vocational opportunities for the disadvantaged will receive over $300,000 to purchase supplies for programs that offer literacy skills, mentoring, tutoring and career development.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Sixteen organizations that provide healthcare services those may not normally have access to healthcare will receive more than $113,000.
