According to a recent study from University of Florida, citrus greenery has negatively affected orange growers in Florida costing approximately $331 million in damages during 2006-2011.

Impact for those years total $1.66 billion. Overall impact, including indirect effects, total at $4.54 billion, or $908 million per annum.

The study shows 8,257 jobs have been lost in the state during that period.
The state of Florida is considered to be a major supplier in the orange juice market.
