Beth Newlands Campbell will replace Ms. Burns as President of the grocery chain. According to recent reports, Roland Smith, new CEO of Food Lion parent company Delhaize America, made the announcement on Thursday with the change effective immediately. Ms. Green Burns, began her career as a bagger at a Hannaford store where she then worked her way up the ranks to her post of Vice President of Fresh Merchandising for Hannaford before joining Food Lion in 2002. Along with Ms. Newlands Campbell being named new President of Food Lion and Harveys, Mike Vail, formerly president of Sweetbay Supermarkets, has been named new Chief Supply Chain Officer for Delhaize America. Brad Wise, formerly Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Delhaize America has taken the reins as the new President of Hannaford and Sweetbay.
