Symancyk as the company’s new President, just a year following his promotion to COO.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/meijer011513body.jpg" alt="Images011513" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"I am pleased to introduce J.K. as our next company president," said Co-Chairman and CEO of the Midwest retailer, Hank Meijer. "J.K. has been a key member of our leadership team, including most recently as our chief operating officer, and he has played an important role in the growth and success of Meijer since joining us in 2006."</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Meijer also announced that Mark Murray will assume the role of Co-CEO, where he will serve alongside current CEO Hank Meijer. Along with Hank Meijer, Doug Meijer, and J.K Symancyk, Murray will develop future business strategy. He will also serve as Vice Chairman of the Meijer board of directors.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">J.K. Symancyk began his relationship with Meijer in 2006 as VP of Perishables. A short year later, he was appointed to the position of Executive VP of Merchandising and Marketing. In 2012, he became COO.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">During his time as COO, Symancyk oversaw retail operations, supply chain, manufacturing, merchandising and marketing.
