<p style="text-indent:0px; line-height:12px;"><span style="font-weight:bold;"> Tuscon, AZ-</span><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">By ANUK Staff<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">1.31.13</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>EuroFresh’s motions to pay produce suppliers, to whom it owes an estimated $500,000 under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act, were approved at the District of Arizona United States Bankruptcy Court on Jan. 28.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The debt was incurred before the company filed before bankruptcy protection. EuroFresh was permitted to continue to pay 817 hourly workers wages and benefits by Judge Eileen Hollowell, according to court documents. The company was also allowed to continue payments to transport and storage providers.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Utility companies including Southwest Gas Co., to which EuroFresh owes a $1.5 million, were prohibited from cutting off service to the company. EuroFresh is hoping for an interim order that would allow the debtor to continue to use cash collateral. They are also seeking a cash advance of 1.5 million on an interim basis before a final hearing on DIP loan and cash collateral motions.
