<p><b>Irvine, Ca-</b> Maxmilian Merril has joined Western Growers as the new Federal Affairs Analyst, based out of Washington.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Merrill’s new responsibilities will include helping the WG federal affairs team with regulatory and legislative objectives in both the legislative and executive branches of the federal government.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img class="small-cropped-image" src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacySmallCroppedImages/westerngrowers053113body.jpg" alt="Images 053013" />“I’m excited about working on federal agriculture policy to help our agricultural economy stay strong,” Merrill said.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Previously, Merrill was the Environmental Program and Policy Specialist for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. With experience in state and local policy along with a background in water science, Merrill will undoubtedly prove to be a valuable addition to the team.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Merrill has a B.A. in Natural Resources and a B.S. in Hydrology from North Carolina State University.
