<p>Giant Food Stored and Martin’s Food Markets have raised $517,000 through the their Support Our Troops campaign which allows customers and associates to make donates in support of regional USOs and the Wounded Warriors Project.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">“Thanks to our customers and associates, we continue to assist the brave men and women who serve our country daily. Due to the outstanding work of our regional USOs and the Wounded Warrior Project, our troops are able to stay connected to their families and receive needed care if they are injured,” said Rick Herring, president.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/hl_giantfoodstores_june_2013_body00.jpg" alt="Images 061013" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Customers were invited to donate $1 at checkout from May 5 through May 18. Regional USOs are primarily morale building programs which keep soldiers connected to their families. The Wounded Warriors Project provides support directly to service members who have sustained serious injuries.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Since the start of Support Our Troops in 2005, Giant and Martin’s customers have donated over $2.3 million.
