C&S Wholesale Warehouse Closure Possible

<p>C&amp;S Wholesale Grocers Inc., Belle Foods' largest creditor, may close its warehouse in Oxmoor Valley, Alabama, laying off 203 people.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The New Hampshire-based company's Birmingham Logistics LLC said that it could begin layoffs at the facility as soon as August 28, according to AL.com.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Whether C&amp;S actually closes the warehouse depends on whether grocer Belle Foods continues to use the wholesale grocery distributor, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Belle Foods, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with more than $42 million in debt July 1. A company attorney was quoted in the report as saying the grocer has no plans to change distributors.
