<p>Grocery Outlet is continuing its expansion in southern California.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The company is opening three new stores in north San Diego County by the end of next month. The growth follows in the wake of two new store openings in Point Loma and downtown San Diego last year.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> “We are excited to continue to increase the number of store locations in North County, where so many families live,” said Melissa Porter, the company’s vice president of marketing.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The company says that their prices are as much as 50 percent lower than other supermarkets’ because it buys “closeout” items and excess inventory from food companies and farmers, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The stores are also smaller and offer a more narrow selection of goods than conventional supermarkets.
