Costco Wholesale Corporation has posted its August, Fourth Quarter, and Fiscal Year 2013 Sales Results today, reporting net sales of $7.95 billion for August, a 7% increase from $7.44 billion during the similar period last year.
For the 16-week fourth quarter, Costco reported net sales of $31.8 billion, a 1% increase from net sales of $31.5 billion reported in the 17-week fourth quarter of fiscal year 2012.
And for the 52-week fiscal year, which ended September 1, 2013, the company reported net sales of $102.9 billion, a 6% increase from the $97.1 billion in the 53-week fiscal year of 2012.
Costco plans to release its operating results for the fourth quarter (16 weeks) and fiscal year 2013 on October 9, 2013.
Jeff Elliot, assistant vice president of financial planning and investor relations, says the company also plans to open 15 new warehouses by the end of the year, according to Reuters.
