The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has cited Florida-based company T & R Produce Wholesale and Trucking Inc. for failure to pay for produce under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA).
The company failed to pay $264,109.94 to four sellers for 29 lots of produce, according to a Agricultural Marketing Service news release. Consequently, T & R Produce Wholesale and Trucking Inc. have entered into a consent decision and cannot operate in the produce industry until August 21, 2015. At that time, the company may then apply for a PACA license.
In addition, Jeom T. Rim, the company’s sole principal, may not be affiliated or be employed by any PACA licensee until August 21, 2014, and then only with the posting of a USDA-approved surety bond.
