USDA Cites New Farm Inc. and Parker Products Inc. for PACA Violations

<p>Two PACA violators in New York and North Carolina have been restricted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) from operating in the produce industry.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> New Farm Inc., operating out of Brooklyn, N.Y., was barred for failing to pay a $24,985 award in favor of a New York seller. Jong Hwa H. Kim was listed as the officer, director, and major stockholder of the business.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Parker Products Inc., operating out of Goldsboro, N.C., was barred for failing to pay a $20,860 award in favor of a North Carolina seller. Hilda Parker was listed as the officer, director, and major stockholder of the business.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">In the past three years, the USDA resolved approximately 5,000 claims filed under PACA involving almost $96 million, according to a press release. Individuals, including sole proprietors, partners, members, managers, officers, directors, or major stockholders may not be employed by or affiliated with any PACA licensee without the approval of the USDA.
