Valley Fruit and Produce Awarded Multi-Million Dollar Contract by the Defense Logistics Agency

<p> Valley Fruit and Produce has been awarded a $30 million firm-fixed-price with economic-price-adjustment, indefinite-quantity contract by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to supply fresh produce to USDA customers, Schools, and Native American Reservations located throughout Southern California.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> “This is an especially gratifying contract to be awarded,” said Carrie La Londe, CFO. “Most of our employees have children in the participating districts and our team is committed to providing great tasting produce that promotes healthy habits for our children.” La Londe stated that conversations with valued grower partners about new offerings have begun and the company looks forward to working together to increase consumption among kids – its most discerning customer base.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Contract performance is slated to begin on December 16, 2013. The contract is a small business set-aside and is strictly reserved for small business concerns meeting the Small Business Administration’s standards.
