<p>Sobeys has revealed its new Sobeys <i>extra</i> concept in Burlington, Ontario. This new format offers an abundance of fresh, quality choices for customers; delivering on Sobeys’ Better Food for All mission. The product portfolio offers healthy, wholesome and sustainable options and time-saving meal ideas. The newly refurbished 58,000 square foot store is the first Sobeys store in Canada to receive the “extra” designation. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>“The grand opening of the first Sobeys extra is a significant milestone in our journey to bring better food to all Canadians,” says Marc Poulin, President & CEO, Sobeys Inc. “Our new store concept offers customers an inviting atmosphere of food discovery while also offering many extras that will help customers to eat better, feel better and do better.” </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The <i>extra</i> concept offers an expanded produce department with ready-to-eat, store-made cut fruit and salads, pre-cut vegetables, a wide variety of organic and local produce and Signature Sobeys fresh programs like potatoes displayed by usage and tomatoes by sweetness, according to a press release. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> In addition to Sobeys <i>extra</i> expanded produce, meat, seafood, bakery, and floral departments, the company is introducing an In-store Chef to offer advice, food tastings and classes, to help customers discover new products and great meal solutions as well as a Wellbeing Counselor to answer health and diet questions, and helps shoppers discover better food. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>A Cheese Ambassador will also provide expert guidance in selecting from hundreds of available cheeses and new entertaining ideas.
