Del Fresco Produce Ltd has recently become “GMO FREE” certified for all of its fresh produce items ranging from beefsteak tomatoes and TOV, to bell peppers, cucumbers, and specialty offerings Del Fresco Delights™ cocktail tomatoes and Mini Mixers™ tomato.
“This was a natural progression for us. The industry is heading this way now and we feel it’s vital to be ahead of the curve,” states Vice President, Ray Mastronardi.
The company was certified under Green Star’s “GMO FREE CERTIFIED” brand program which certifies that producers have provided laboratory results that their produce or products are GMO Free. Green Star goes the extra mile to provide customers with an independent third party witness to their GMO FREE laboratory certifications/results.
The company believes that consumers in North America should have access to clearly-labeled non-GMO food and products, now and in the future. Del Fresco will begin labeling its packages with the “NON GMO” logo in the upcoming months.
