Three PACA violators in California, Arizona, and Illinois have been restricted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture from operating in the produce industry, according to a press release.

Castalyny Cerbeses Inc., a Santa Ana, CA-based company, failed to pay a $12,840 award in favor of a Texas seller. Charles L. Wallace Sr. was listed as the officer, director, and major stockholder of the business.

JJ 99 Produce Inc., a Rio Rico, AZ-based company, failed to pay a $33,457 award in favor of an Arizona seller. Jose J. Santana was listed as the officer, director, and major stockholder of the business.

Pier 27 South LLC, a Northbrook, IL-based company, failed to pay a $309,029 award in favor of a Georgia seller. 2062621 Ontario Inc., Rob Griffore, Dan Hall, and Steven L. Kaiser were listed as members of the business.

In the past three years, the USDA resolved approximately 4,600 claims under the PACA involving more than $87 million. Individuals, including sole proprietors, partners, members, managers, officers, directors, or major stockholders may not be employed or affiliated with any PACA licensee without the approval of the USDA. The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), PACA Division, regulates fair trading practices of produce businesses operating subject to PACA.
