In its ongoing effort to emphasize the consumer shopping experience, Kroger has made a multi-million dollar investment in a new Refresh initiative which aims to lower prices on thousands of products across all 86 of its stores in North Texas. The company is now lowering prices across the board - from fruits and veggies to grocery and household staples, according to a press release.

“We know that price is important to every customer, and at times, can be a deciding factor where to shop,” said Bill Breetz, President of Kroger Southwest. “With our Refresh initiative, we’re making a multi-million dollar investment to reduce prices across the store and reengaging our employees to offer highly-satisfied customer service.”

This widespread price reduction also includes a renewed focus in helping shoppers maximize savings and time with print/digital coupons and with the company’s faster checkout experience. Overhead infared sensors count the number of customers in the stores to help them see which checkout lanes are in service, how many are needed, and the number projected to be needed in 30 minutes, according to USA Today. This technology can help the company better schedule workers during busy periods.

By 2016, Kroger anticipates building six new stores, expanding three locations, and remodeling existing properties in North Texas.

Kroger
