<p>PakSense Inc, a leader in the development of intelligent sensing products designed to monitor perishable goods, is partnering with Thin Film Electronics ASA in a commercial distribution agreement, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The terms of the agreement allow PakSense to distribute Thinfilm Smart Labels to food suppliers and produce retailers in North, Central, and South America. PakSense has submitted pre-orders for the labels, which are expected to be delivered to lead customers in early 2015.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Currently, PakSense offers single-use electronic time and temperature loggers which are optimized to monitor and record conditions at the container level for up to 90 days. They can monitor all segments of the food supply chain including from the supplier to the retail distribution center, retail distribution center to the store, and perishable exports. Many food suppliers and processors also use PakSense Labels as part of their internal quality assurance programs.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The Thinfilm printed electronic labels will indicate if certain temperature ranges have been exceeded and complement PakSense time and temperature monitors. These ultra-low cost printed electronics will now make it possible for PakSense customers to use multiple Thinfilm labels in a single shipment at either the item or pallet level.
