Hortifrut has announced a new partnership with Argentine fruit business Expofresh. The main objectives of this partnership include the development of exclusive varieties, while creating leadership in the category as well as consistent supply and high quality for early blueberries.
In the U.S., the Chilean fresh berry company Hortifrut is associated with three of the largest US berry growers: Michigan Blueberry Growers, Naturipe Berry Growers, and Mungers Farms. These firms work together under the Naturipe brand to sell their products 52 weeks of the year.
The Hortifrut Expofresh partnership brings together a great team of producers and staff, along with operational synergies and logistics, according to El Observador.
Nicholas Moller, CEO Hortifrut, noted that the partnership allows the company to act together to strengthen security and supply of high quality early blueberries to commercial platforms for Hortifrut and its strategic customers who will benefit from a better product and delivery service.
Hortifrut has been busy over the past couple years, having announced a merger with VITALBERRY in 2012. The agreement’s goal was to help the company capture synergies and economies of scale that add value to their producers.
International market demand for berries continues to grow and these companies are rising to the occasion. Congratulations to both Hortifrut and Expofresh on your new partnership!
