PLANT CITY, FL – Wish Farms teamed up with Orlando Serve Foundation this Easter to feed those in need with fresh strawberries at the first annual He Got Up event. Wish Farms donated over 2,700 pounds of berries to the event, which is equivalent to roughly 250 flats or 2 full pallets of the fruit.
“This event was a huge undertaking for the Orlando Serve Foundation,” said Gary Wishnatzki. Wish Farms Owner, in a press release. “The planning and resources that went into coordinating an event of this magnitude was really impressive. “
The event was held at the Orlando Citrus Bowl, with over 1,500 volunteers contributing to assist atteendees with basic needs care, general health and wellness, and legal and job placement services.
The event also featured local entertainment, a kid zone, and food and beverages. He Got Up was free to all those in attendance. Complimentary shuttle service was provided to and from the Citrus Bowl, followed by an Easter service led by He Got Up creator and former NFL player, Rev. Tim Johnson.
The fresh strawberries donated by Wish Farms helped give an Easter meal to area homeless, as well as those receiving housing assistance. “We were happy to donate healthy nutritious produce to those in our community who need it most,” commented Wishnatzki.
