OXNARD, CA – Brent Scattini is on the rise at Mission Produce, as the company looks to boost its avocado offerings even further throughout the globe. Mission announced today that Scattini has been promoted to Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
“I’ve been in the produce industry for most of my life, and all of my career. Mission is a juggernaut when it comes to the avocado category, and the company is in a solid position of strength for the future. As we continue to grow the business globally, I’m confident that my experience and outlook can help us extend our position as the category leader in avocados,” stated Scattini.
Scattini joined Mission Produce only a few short months ago at the end of last year, in his initial role as Vice President of Sales for North America. In his current executive position, Scattini will oversee the company’s global sales and marketing efforts as Mission expands its footprint, according to a press release.
“Brent is a strong cultural fit for us. His background in the produce industry, along with his management style, are well-suited for Mission,” said President and CEO Steve Barnard. “We have lofty global growth goals, and we feel that Brent’s approach to team-building, customer development and strategy will keep us on a rapid growth curve.”
Scattini’s goals on the Mission team will be to keep the company’s leadership position and future business at the forefront of his endeavors. Barnard also stated that in his new position, Scattini will fulfill in an important role in the company and its prospective growth.
Scattini brings 27 years of produce prowess to the position, and also comes to the industry from a five-generation farming family in Salinas. Prior to joining Mission, Scattini served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Gold Coast Packing, where he worked for the past 6 years. Previously to that, Scattini was Director of Sales for Grimmway Farms for 15 years. Scattini also serves on the Board of Directors for the United Fresh Produce Association, and is currently Co-Chair of the PMA Foodservice Committee.
“Mission has a great team in place. My goal is to continue to develop our people, programs, and category expertise to further enhance our ability to service our global customer base,” continued Scattini. “Our global footprint is expanding, and my efforts will go toward developing the business in each of the end-user markets we serve in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.”
Mission Produce operates eight ripe distribution centers in North America, and is currently completing other facilities in Canada, Europe, and China.
