GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Meijer Distribution Inc. has purchased roughly 160 acres of land to add to the 60 acres of land the company already owns in Tipp City and the $100 million dairy in Miami County that the company had previously purchased, according to Dayton Daily News.
“We purchased the land for future flexibility, but have no immediate plans to build or develop,” said Meijer Public Relations Manager Joe Hirschmugl.
Meijer purchased the land in the 600 block of West Kerr Road from Jacqueline Mote for $1.55 million, according to Miami Country property records.
In its prior purchase, Meijer acquired 59 acres of farm land on South Country Road 25A from Lesher farms for $3 million, on which the company has already begun construction of a 105,000-square-foot dairy production facility and refrigerated warehouse space within a convenient distance from the company’s existing 1.7 million-square-foot distribution center at 4200 S. County Road 25A, Dayton Daily News reported.
This facility will aid the company in both efficiency and ease of delivery. To stay up to date on all industry acquisitions, keep reading AndNowUKnow.
