SALINAS, CA - Ready-to-eat fresh food maker Taylor Farms is continuing to support local youth and give back in the communities in which it operates through the eighth iteration of its annual backpack giveaway program. In partnership with the Golden State Food (GSF) Foundation, Taylor Farms provided over 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to students across communities throughout the U.S., including Salinas, CA; Gonzales, CA; Tracy, CA; and Dallas, TX.
“The yearly backpack giving program is one of our team’s favorite community facing programs,” said Taylor Farms' Katrina Gargiulo, in a press release. “It’s rewarding to have the opportunity to give back and support the future of the communities in which we operate.”
This year, Taylor Farms and its partner distributed 1,150 backpacks to elementary school students throughout the country—including the children of Taylor Farms employees.
“When school begins each year, Taylor Farms’ annual donation of backpacks greatly benefits our students' learning,” said Elizabeth Armenta, Principal, Alisal Community Elementary School. “Every year it's a joy to see our students' happy faces and hear their excitement. These efforts have truly made a difference and have touched so many lives.”
To date, between its internal backpack giveaway program and the partnership with GSF Foundation, the company noted in its press release, Taylor Farms has provided more than 11,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to students.
