WEST SACRAMENTO, CA - Since joining the company in 2015 as the Chief Operating Officer, Keith Knopf has been on the up and up. Now he is taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer, following his appointment as President over a year ago. Moving forward, Owner Michael Teel will continue to be Chairman of the Board.
“Keith is a strong leader who has a passion for our people and our purpose,” said Teel. “He has proven success in moving our strategic priorities forward and growing our market share.”
Raley’s as a brand has evolved and strengthened its position in the marketplace, and, according to a press release, Knopf’s role has been crucial in the undertaking of its transformation. Because of his dedication to personalized customer experiences and connections with every team member in order to create a company-wide goal of cultivating life with health and happiness, he has been able to help change the way consumers eat—one plate at a time. Team member development and the creation of Raley’s great workplace environment has been a result of his dedicated leadership.
Knopf has focused on strategic growth and brand building since diving into his career at Raley’s—where he has led new store development, such as its recent acquisition of locations in the Reno region. Raley’s has expanded its e-commerce presence and orchestrated bold category transformation by offering healthier options, according to press release.
“It is a privilege to work alongside Mike and the Raley’s leadership team. I am dedicated to perpetuating the company’s proud legacy and to making a difference in the health of the people we serve,” Knopf said. “I believe our 11,000 team members are committed to accomplishing these things together, and I am grateful for their dedication.”
While Knopf steers the company’s strategic direction, Teel will continue to contribute to its vision and purpose, as he hones in on, from the perspective of owner and consumer advocate, leading change in the food system.
“Keith and I are tightly aligned on the vision and direction of the company. I have confidence in him and the leadership team to lead the strategic direction to accomplish our vision,” Teel conveyed. “With this change, I will be able to spend more time in the community with organizations that will help transform the food system alongside Raley’s.”
Congratulations to both Mike Knopf and Michael Teel on this exciting transition in the Raley’s structure!
