IMMOKALEE, FL - Consumers these days are looking for more than just the items scribbled on their shopping lists—they're looking for the ethics behind a product and what the company stands for. Furthering its commitment to sustainability, Lipman Family Farms has announced it will be showcasing its new compostable clamshell packaging for its organic grape tomatoes at the Southeast Produce Council’s (SEPC) Southern Exposure conference next week.
“At Lipman, we’re always looking for new ways to improve our practices and bring innovative solutions to our customers,” said Sustainability and Operations Analyst Louis DeMaso. “We are proud to offer our new, sustainable clamshell packaging as we work toward our mission of decreasing our environmental footprint at every point in the supply chain.”
The new packaging is carefully curated for the grower’s Grown True™ organic grape tomatoes and offers 100 percent backyard compostability, according to a company release, allowing consumers to practice mindfulness when shopping for their fruits and veggies. The packaging is also conveniently designed to offer direct visibility of the organic grape tomatoes, which are grown sustainably in Lipman’s organic acreage.
The company will be showcasing this recent innovation at Southern Exposure, which will take place April 6-8.
In addition to showing off the enticing new compostable packaging, Lipman will also be featuring a variety of offerings across its brands, including Grown True, The Crimson™ tomato, and greenhouse-grown Suntastic®. These varieties, along with the packaging, will be showcased both in person at the event and on SEPC’s virtual show platform.
Lipman is now expanding its compostable packaging offerings to the East Coast, with additional packaging solutions being explored within the Grown True label as well.
