WEST DES MOINES, IOWA - It seems more congratulations are in order as yet another company makes a strategic move to bolster its leadership team. This time, a new Chief has joined Hy-Vee’s ring of talented leaders, as the retailer recently named Jason Buhrow as its Chief Data Officer. Buhrow will officially assume the role on April 19.
In his new position, Buhrow will oversee the development and governance of data strategy for the company, according to a press release. He will also focus on innovation in enterprise-wide data science, analysis, and visualization.
Buhrow joins Hy-Vee after holding the position of Business Technology Vice President for FBL Financial Group.
He also has significant experience in retail, insurance, finance, non-profit, and manufacturing, holding various technology leadership positions at RSM US LLP and Berkley Technology Service.
“We are excited to welcome Jason to the Hy-Vee family and are confident that his extensive experience in information management and strategy will enable Hy-Vee to continue delivering amazing customer experiences by leveraging data and analytics,” said Randy Edeker, Chairman of the Board, CEO, and President of Hy-Vee.
Buhrow has a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Northern Iowa. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for NSEF and is an advisory member for 100 Men of Norwalk.
