Baldor Specialty Foods Restructures Organization for Post-COVID Expansion; TJ Murphy, Benjamin Walker, and Michael Muzyk Comment

BRONX, NY - Baldor Specialty Foods is gearing up for growth and expansion as it announced a major restructuring to its organization. Gene Mayer and Benjamin Walker were both recently promoted, as Baldor has expanded strategic executive roles to enhance business performance, improve the customer experience, and streamline the rollout of several future company initiatives.

Mayer was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Procurement. Utilizing his over 17 years of experience with the company, Mayer will oversee global operations and strengthen Baldor’s infrastructure for growth in his new role as COO. Mayer will also drive innovation in warehouse management, supply chain activities, and new business ventures.

As Baldor Specialty Foods looks to position itself for growth, it recently announced executive promotions designed to enhance business performance, improve the customer experience, and streamline the rollout of future company initiatives

Previously serving as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Walker has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Merchandising, Walker has a history of driving several successful programs at Baldor, most notably the company’s successful pivot to a home-delivery model during the pandemic, as well as driving a number of their digitization efforts and growth in the retail channel.

According to the release, Walker will be assigned the task of restructuring Baldor’s merchandising team to further align the company’s sales and product strategies.

In addition, the company also announced that Baldor President Michael Muzyk has transitioned from Chairman to outgoing Chairman of United Fresh Produce Association after overseeing the United Fresh / PMA merger, and will now work with Walker on strengthening grower/shipper relations and accelerating Baldor’s expansion plans.
