LEAMINGTON, ONTARIO, CANADA - I was fortunate enough to see Highline Mushrooms’ victory in action at this year’s Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s (CPMA) Convention and Trade Show in Montréal. The company’s new sauté kits, Simple Sides, won the award for Best New Product, an honor that recognizes innovations across the industry.
“We are glad the product is finally out after so much work. We made sure we were in line with trends and packaging, and it was amazing to see the response at the CPMA. People loved the flavors,” said Stephanie Myles, Marketing Manager.
Packaging design, convenience, and flavor made the sauté kits stand out on the show floor. The meal kit includes sliced fresh mushrooms with two sauce options: Herb & Garlic and Sesame & Ginger.
Ready within six minutes, this dish denotes how important consumers value convenience without compromising on flavor, as a press release explained.
The star of this sauté kit is the white mushrooms, which are packed with more than 12 vitamins and high protein content. The product is also low-calorie, low-sodium, fat-free, cholesterol-free, and gluten-free.
The Best New Product Award was one of five New Produce Showcase Award categories. Sixty-eight products were featured this year, and winners were chosen by a panel of judges from across the industry.
